February 21st Tuesday Workshop: Layered Landscape Collage taught by Deborah Boschert, one of the artists included in Twelve by Twelve: Art Quilt Collaborative
Cost to guild members $40 Open to non-guild members cost $50
Create a contemporary fabric collage inspired by landscape elements. Deborah will share a step-by-step formula that guides the composition and allows for your own artistic style. Explore using a variety of materials and techniques to add depth, texture and interesting details
Purchase $10 kit compiled by the teacher including
- all fabric for the collage, including some hand painted pieces
- felt for batting
- pre-cut fusible webbing
- paint, sponges, stencils and freezer paper
- a selection of unusual fabrics; and a selection of sheer fabrics
- embroidery floss
Students should bring
- cutting mat and rotary cutter (decorative blades if you have any)
- paper and fabric scissors
- pins
- sewing machine
- thread, neutrals and 3 - 4 colors you love- exacto knife
- hand embroidery needle
- one fat quarter of fabric for facing
- Creative Spirit!

(we'll join our regular meeting at noon).
February - April First Monday of each month - Pat Brousil will conduct several demonstrations on creating a MYSTERY QUILT during February, March, April and May. She'll incorporate teaching the use of specialty rulers and construction of the mystery quilt by using those rulers or not!
March 13-15th - Tuesday through Thursday. The Milltown Quilters Retreat! at Hallowood Retreat Center in Dickerson, MD. (Waiting List)
March 16th Friday - Bus trip to the AQS Lancaster Quilt Show. Cost is $42 and includes admission to the show and a bonus stop at the cookie outlet in York on the way home. Non-members are welcome. Please contact Lois H. or e-mail Milltown Quilters.
